In 2017, Sway had the wonderful opportunity to work with the PGA of Canada, RBC, and The Lincoln Motor Company through their partnership with Wasserman in creating all the film content used to promote the second inaugural RBC Scramble (that’s a mouthful of brands! haha).
This scramble-formatted tournament provided an opportunity for foursomes to come together and experience golf in a completely different, team-oriented way; all the while getting to play under all the bells and whistles normally reserved for professionals on tour. Teams from all across the country participated starting at the local level, with winners advancing to the Regional Finals and culminating in the National Championship at Cabot Links in Inverness, Nova Scotia.
From our side, it was an incredible and amazing experience in capturing footage. Getting to film with the thousands of amateur golfers that took part offered some amazing candid moments (we don’t often get to see when working with the pros on tour) and we really enjoyed the opportunity to capture the essence of what team golf in Canada can be. From the natural countryside of Muskoka Bay Club to the hidden escape at King Valley, and finally the expansive vistas and breathtaking cultural experience that is Cabot, our team ranks this project extremely high in terms of on-set experiences. I was embarrassed to admit as a Canadian that I’d never been to Inverness County—a place that provides the camera lens with landscapes in the way that a Michelin-star chef would prepare a filet mignon. From the whispers of Gaelic among locals, to the Ceilidh-bound visitors in search of locally distilled spirits—and enjoying views that could make a sailor cry—our team truly enjoyed all that Cabot could offer.
In summary, this was a wonderful project for our team to take part in. Check the links below to see a few snippets of the content we created along the way!
